Excerpted from The Body Talks…and I Can Hear It, by Jeanie Lemaire:
“My members and I are a bit confused about the meanings of ‘normal’ and ‘natural’. Aren’t they one and the same?”
“To answer your question-no, they are not the same. In fact, they are quite different. *Natural*, as it implies, flows with nature. It is always aligned-in balance and harmony with its surroundings-one with, inherent. In body form, we call it well-ness. *Normal*, on the other hand, refers to something that is typical, usual, but not true across the board. *Normal* is so prevalent that it just *appears* to be what’s so. For example, a headache is normal becaues lots of human beings get them, but a headache is not natural, because not everyone has them.”
